What does “Gumbo” mean
Montana slang for the greasy, nearly impassable clay mud common in the eastern part of the state. When wet it becomes a slippery ooze that cakes onto tires and boots, but once dry it sets with the hardness of concrete. It is unrelated to the Louisiana stew of the same name.
