Dialectly on your phone (soon)
A native iPhone and Android app for Dialectly is on the roadmap. A phone is where most of these words actually live — overheard at a counter, remembered in the car, looked up at the dinner table. The dictionary belongs in a pocket as much as it does in a browser.
We're building the web first because that's where new readers find the project. A mobile app is a big enough investment that we want to be sure it lands in hands that will use it. So this is honest: the more the community uses, contributes to, and shares Dialectly, the sooner the apps ship.
What the app will do
The same dictionary, but tuned for the moments you actually reach for a phone: search a word you just heard, swipe through a state's vocabulary, drop a pin where you encountered a regional saying, and submit it for the dictionary. Offline reading. Audio pronunciations. Quick "word of the day" you can share.
How to help us get there
Use the site. Browse a region you didn't know existed. Tell us about a word your family says — drop a note at soloviy.app@gmail.com. Share Dialectly with someone who'd love it. The fastest signal that an app is worth building is a community that's already there.
When it ships, we'll announce on Instagram (soloviy) (Dialectly shares the soloviy team's account until it has its own). Thanks for being early.
