What does “Finger steaks” mean
Finger steaks are finger-length strips of beef tenderloin, battered and quickly deep-fried, served with cocktail or fry sauce and a slab of Texas toast. They were popularized at Milo's Torch Lounge in Boise in 1957 by former Forest Service butcher Milo Bybee, who supposedly invented them to use up tenderloin scraps. They're on bar menus all across Idaho — and basically nowhere else in the country.
