What does “Punkin Chunkin” mean

A Sussex County competition, begun near Lewes in 1986, in which teams build air cannons, catapults, and trebuchets to hurl pumpkins as far as possible each fall. It grew into a televised World Championship over 28 years before insurance and legal issues halted its Delaware run. The event is a defining piece of downstate Delaware culture.
