What does “tap MAC” mean
To get money out of an ATM, from MAC (Money Access Center), a pioneering Mid-Atlantic ATM network founded in 1979 whose holding company was based in Wilmington. In Delaware and the greater Philadelphia region an ATM is still called a 'MAC machine' and a debit card a 'MAC card,' long after the network itself was absorbed into STAR. 'Tap MAC' survives as everyday shorthand for making a withdrawal.
