What does “Coffee milk” mean

Cold milk stirred with a few spoonfuls of coffee syrup, usually Autocrat or Eclipse, both bottled in Rhode Island. Made the official state drink in 1993, it has been a school-cafeteria and diner staple since Italian immigrants brought sweet coffee traditions to Providence in the 1920s. Order it anywhere outside Rhode Island and you get a confused look.
