Beervana

Beervana is the affectionate moniker — beer plus nirvana — coined by Portland alt-weekly Willamette Week in 1994 for the city's outsized craft-brewery scene. Portland has roughly seventy breweries inside city limits, one of the highest per-capita concentrations in the world, and the name has become official-enough that Travel Portland uses it in tourism materials. Outside the Pacific Northwest, the nickname is largely unknown.
