What does “cheese dip” mean
Cheese dip was reportedly invented by Blackie Donnelly at the Mexico Chiquito restaurant in North Little Rock in 1935 — predating Tex-Mex queso. Arkansans insist it is categorically different from Texas queso (looser, redder, more chili-spiced) and the distinction is taken seriously enough that the Wall Street Journal hosted a 2016 Arkansas-versus-Texas blind taste-off, which Arkansas won. Little Rock has hosted the World Cheese Dip Championship since 2010.
