Sonoran dog

A Sonoran dog is an all-beef wiener wrapped in bacon and griddled, then tucked into a soft bolillo-style bun and piled with pinto beans, chopped tomatoes, griddled onions, mayo, mustard, and jalapeño salsa. The style crossed the border from Sonora, Mexico in the 1960s and became Tucson's signature street food, with carts and James-Beard-honored shops (El Guero Canelo) all over the city. Phoenix has them; everywhere else, the bacon-wrapped dog is something else entirely.
