What does “Package store” mean
A 'package store' is the standard term in Connecticut (and across much of New England) for a retail liquor store. The name comes from post-Prohibition laws requiring off-premises alcohol to leave the store sealed in a package. It is frequently shortened to 'packie,' as in 'a packie run.'
