What does “The Kanc” mean
Locals' nickname for NH Route 112, the Kancamagus Highway, which crosses the White Mountain National Forest between Lincoln and Conway. No services, no billboards, and in October a wall of orange and red foliage that locks the road into stop-and-go leaf-peeper traffic. Saying 'we drove the Kanc' is a New Hampshire fall ritual.
