What does “Slaps” mean

In Bay Area hip-hop slang, a song 'slaps' when its 808 drums and bass hit so hard your car trunk physically rattles. The usage is widely credited to Vallejo rapper E-40, who first used it to describe his own beats; it was logged on Urban Dictionary as early as 2004. The word jumped into general youth slang in the 2010s ('this pizza slaps') but it originated in NorCal car-stereo culture, distinct from SoCal surfer 'stoked.'
