What does “Cel-Ray” mean
Cel-Ray is a celery-seed soda produced by Dr. Brown's, first sold in New York around 1869 and marketed as 'a pure beverage for the nerves.' It became a fixture of New York Jewish delicatessens, especially after the 1930s when many Jewish consumers chose it over Coca-Cola before that brand obtained kosher certification. Outside the New York deli world it remains almost unknown.
