What does “The Kingdom” mean
The rural three-county northeast corner of Vermont, christened the 'Northeast Kingdom' by Senator George Aiken in a 1949 speech in Lyndonville. Residents simply call it 'the Kingdom' — a region of dairy farms, dark-sky lakes and wood-heated camps that even other Vermonters consider its own world.
