What does “Spaghetti Junction” mean
A nickname pasted onto whichever knot of stacked ramps locals find most photogenically chaotic. In Atlanta it is the Tom Moreland Interchange at I-85 and I-285; in Louisville it is the Kennedy Interchange; in Las Vegas, Houston, El Paso, and Salt Lake it is the local Spaghetti Bowl. The first U.S. use was in 1959 describing Louisville's planned tangle.
