What does “Alberta Clipper” mean
A fast-moving low-pressure system that drops out of Alberta and races southeast across the northern US. Clippers do not drop much snow (usually 1-3 inches), but they pack a brutal punch of plunging temperatures and screaming winds in their wake. Upper Midwest and Northeast forecasters use the term constantly from December through February.
