What does “sweeper” mean
In Pittsburgh and much of the Midland, a vacuum cleaner is called a 'sweeper' (from 'carpet sweeper'), and the verb 'sweep' is used for vacuuming. This leads to perfectly normal local sentences like 'I have to sweep the rug with the sweeper'.
