What does “kindly” mean
In Appalachian speech 'kindly' is a softened 'kind of'. 'I'm kindly tired today.' 'He kindly likes her.' Not the same as the standard 'kindly' meaning 'in a kind manner'. A pronunciation-shift relic that has held on in mountain speech for two centuries.
