What does “Ale-8-One” mean
Developed by G. L. Wainscott and named through a 1926 contest with the winning entry 'A Late One' (meaning 'the latest thing'), shortened to Ale-8-One. The recipe is a closely guarded family secret known only to a handful of Rogers-family executives. For most of its history, distribution was limited to central and eastern Kentucky, and Kentuckians abroad still treat it as a homesickness cure.
